Instal the last version for ios WinPing 2.5512/30/2023 I've had about 200 more crashes trying everything. I've read all 60 threads on this issue, and so I have tried as many things as I could compile. It feels a lot like Hibernate on Windows. Otherwise, after login, the computer keeps on doing whatever it was doing. When I am lucky enough to get an opportunity to see a log, I get error 13 (General Protection) on Processor 2. Sometimes the machine will run for days sometimes it will go into a crash loop sometimes it just conks out. The computer will simply shut down randomly - sometimes exactly when you move the mouse or press a key. Random shutdowns with iMac 5k 27 2014 (15,1) Mojave?! I have been suffering from chronic shutdowns (or what looks like shutdowns) with my iMac late 2014 (5k, 4ghz i7, M295x Mojave 10.14.6). I may add that this behavior started after upgrading to 11.2 or 11.3 (I don't remember exactly but I think it was 11.3), no issues with 11.0 and 11.1. So it looks more like a software issue to me. A shutdown reason of 5 is at least consistent with (1), no error report.Īny idea or though what the reason for these random shutdowns could be, or how I could trace down more precisely what causes the shutdowns? Any application I could install to log more information? Is there some application sending a shutdown command? I have reset SMC, NVRAM and performed Apple Hardware Test, Memtest86 and Prime 95 Torture Tests, all normal. Indeed, when I do a normal manual shutdown I get the same shutdown reason, 5. When I look this up on the internet I read that 5 means a normal shutdown. So it says the previous shutdown cause is 5. Log - Default: 1, Info: 0, Debug: 0, Error: 0, Fault: 0Īctivity - Create: 0, Transition: 0, Actions: 0 Skipping info and debug messages, pass -info and/or -debug to include. (2) When I do "log show -predicate 'eventMessage contains "Previous shutdown cause"' I get:įiltering the log data using "composedMessage CONTAINS "Previous shutdown cause"" (1) Whenever I start the machine after a random shutdown, there is no error report whatsoever. It happens sporadically, I can have uptimes of several weeks before such a random shutdown occurs. So far it always happened when I was not sitting before the machine. My 19,1 iMac experiences random shutdowns.
